Construction law
Private construction law deals with the legal relationships between the client and the contractor and/or architect or between contractors themselves (e.g. when subcontractors are involved). These legal relationships are governed by the provisions of private law contained in the German Civil Code (BGB), the German Construction Contract Procedures (VOB), the construction contract, etc.

This should be distinguished from public building law which deals with building law in relation to building administration (e.g. building permits, fire protection, clearance areas, etc.).
Both contractors and clients are supported in the context of legal advice during construction in monitoring compliance with contractual requirements, interpreting individual provisions, implementing any necessary supplementary agreements, and also in enforcing justified claims for remuneration, claims for defects and securing these claims.
